Meeting EU Healthcare Challenges

Over 200 delegates attended seminars in Gdańsk and Warsaw on working in the United Kingdom healthcare system, delivered by J S Hamilton Healthcare’s 12 man team of presenters and support staff.

An intensive programme covered the history of the National Health Service (NHS), how it operates now and Government plans to ensure it continues to deliver quality healthcare to all on the basis of need, and with a few minor exceptions without charge.

To meet public expectations the UK Government has embarked on a major investment strategy, including more hospitals and more doctors and nurses to run them, as well as expanding the role of family doctors and other healthcare professionals. There are plans to recruit more dentists too, so that everyone in the UK will have access to dental care on the NHS.

In addition to covering these topics the opening session included a personal account of working as a NHS surgeon from Dr Zbigniew Zmarzlik. It was he said enjoyable, educational and well paid.

Following morning coffee three concurrent seminars provided more detailed information to doctors, dentists and nurses, and an opportunity for delegates to question experts from the UK on working conditions, language requirements, how to register in the UK and a host of other practical issues

The afternoon presentations addressed living in the UK: incomes, the cost of living, education, transport and taxation, followed by more questions and answers and a checklist of how J S Hamilton Healthcare can help individual doctors, dentists and nurses realise their ambition of working in the UK’s NHS and private sector.

Both seminars were acclaimed by delegates as great successes, providing attendees with all they needed to know, in a friendly atmosphere with plenty of opportunity ask the experts about their own specific circumstances.
